
Bullhead Woman Indicted for Bank Embezzlement

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Bullhead woman has been indicted by a federal grand jury for Bank Embezzlement.
Ella Mae Kills Pretty Enemy, age 29, was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 14, 2012. Kills Pretty Enemy appeared before United States Magistrate Judge William D. Gerdes on March 8, 2012, and pled not guilty to the indictment. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 30 years in custody, a $1,000,000 fine, or both. Restitution may also be ordered. The charge relates to an allegation that the defendant stole money from the First National Bank in McLaughlin between November and December 2010. The charge is merely an accusation, and Kills Pretty Enemy is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The investigation is being conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Standing Rock Agency. Assistant United States Attorney Mikal Hanson is prosecuting the case. Kills Pretty Enemy was released on bond pending trial. Trial has been set for May 8, 2012.
